MEDIA ARTICLE NCUF Receives $800,000 in Donations at 2004 GAC The National Credit Union Foundation presented at the 2004 Herb Wegner Memorial Awards its Crystal Awards to Corporate Sponsors in recognition of their ongoing support. National Credit Union Foundation (NCUF) Chairman Chuck Purvis and Executive Director Gary Officer accepted checks totaling $800,000 from five Corporate Sponsors at the 2004 Governmental Affairs Conference. To recognize their support, Corporate Sponsors were presented the NCUFs Crystal Award the Foundations highest form of recognition for its corporate sponsors. Receiving the awards were: Credit Union National Association, U.S. Central Credit Union, CUNA Mutual Group, Liberty Enterprises, and as a group, Card Services for Credit Unions, Certegy and Visa. Were extremely grateful for the continued generous support of these organizations, said Chuck Purvis, NCUF Chairman. Industry leaders such as these truly understand the importance of the work were doing and that the ultimate success of the Foundations programs means continued support and growth for theirs. The Credit Union National Association, with a continued annual contribution of $400,000, is the Foundations largest donor. Other Corporate Sponsor award recipients donated at least $100,000 to the NCUF. In addition to monetary support, these organizations have made numerous in-kind donations as well. The Foundation, in accordance with its mission, uses these monies to continue its programming and initiatives to improve consumer financial independence through credit unions. Liberty President & CEO Stan Hollen accepted Libertys award from the Foundation at the annual Herb Wegner Memorial Awards Dinner, one of the highlights of the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Governmental Affairs Conference. We certainly appreciate the NCUFs acknowledgment of our ongoing support, Hollen said. With our companys focus squarely on serving credit unions, we think its only logical to serve as a corporate sponsor of the Foundations excellent and needed programs. NCUF presented additional sponsor awards at the Washington event. For its donation of $25,000 the California Credit Union League was given the Chairmans Club Award. At the Leadership Circle level, BALANCE was given an award for their $25,000 donation. The Foundations goals to help credit union families achieve financial independence, and especially to become homeowners, so closely mirrors BALANCE objectives that it just makes sense for us to contribute to their efforts, said Joanne Budde, Balance Vice President. We are extremely excited about the opportunity to play a part in the success of the Foundation, the credit unions they support, and especially the members, who are able to change their lives with the innovative programs being offered by their credit unions. Donors in the 2004 Platinum Event level are: American Association of Credit Union Leagues, Colorado Credit Union System, Corporate One Federal Credit Union, Empire Corporate Federal Credit Union, FannieMae, Fiserv, Georgia Credit Union Affiliates, John M.
